Edward Cating made a major life-change in 2011, and has been employed as an over the road truck driver since February 2012 after earning  his CDL. He is leased to Prime, Inc., and plans to purchase the tractor in 3 years, then to run it for another 3 to 6 in order that he may one day retire and find the time to paint again! Edward is a realist painter specializing in landscape, portraiture, and still life. His work has been included in Berkshire Biennials, group shows in Boston, and at The Harrison Gallery, Williamstown, Massachusetts.

“I am fascinated by the relationship of paint to its ground, restricted values, and, increasingly, in a restricted palette. The fact that human minds so readily translate the language of paint and marks into visual images that result in a sense of ‘realism’ fascinates me and informs all my choices.” — Edward Cating

Cating holds a BFA in Theatre from Southwestern University and a Studio Diploma from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (’02).
