Edward Cating made a major life-change in 2011, and has been self-employed as an over the road truck driver since February 2012 after earning his CDL. He is figuring out how to paint from his truck.
Edward is a realist painter specializing in landscape, portraiture, and still life. His work has been included in numerous shows from Boston to the Berkshires – The Harrison Gallery, Williamstown, Massachusetts.
“I am fascinated by the relationship of paint to its ground, restricted values, and, increasingly, in a restricted palette. The fact that human minds so readily translate the language of paint and marks into visual images that result in a sense of ‘realism’ fascinates me and informs all my choices.” — Edward Cating
Cating studied Theatre at Southwestern University and holds a Diploma (Studio Art) from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (’02).
